Can we connect a wireless router to a computer without an Wireless Adapter?

I have a wireless router and I don’t have the Wireless Adapter to my computer. Can I hook it up from the router to my computer and it will recognize it or do I absolutely need the Adapter? My router is just beside my computer so it’s not a problem to hook it up so can I?? Thank you for your help.

Well most routers have 4 Ethernet ports open that are used to connect your computer to the router without being wireless.
Instructions
1. Find an Ethernet cord
2. Plug on end in your computer
3. Plug in an empty Ethernet port in your router
